For training, staff uniforms and repeat-order teamwear, start with the intended activity and wearing conditions. A lightweight feel alone does not establish moisture management, durability or the right fit.

Buying notes
What makes a performance tee work for your programme?
Most performance-tee problems trace back to three early decisions: fabric weight, fibre and how the logo is applied. Settle them on the first sample, not after bulk.
01
Pick the weight for the activity
Within the confirmed 180 to below 250 g/m² band, the lighter end suits running and hot-weather training, where airflow matters most. Heavier constructions give more opacity and a more structured drape for staff and teamwear worn all day. Hold the swatch up to the light before approving pale colours.
02
Polyester or nylon?
Polyester is the usual choice for team colours and printed designs. Nylon (polyamide) tends to feel smoother and softer against the skin, but it takes some print methods differently, so approve the decoration on the actual fabric. The elastane share is set by style; ask which style your sample represents.
03
Logos that move with the fabric
Heat-transfer logos flex with a stretch knit, and SenLin also offers name-and-number personalisation for teams. On dark polyester, light inks can be stained by dye migration, so ask to see the decorated sample after the agreed wash before you approve it.

Performance Tees — specification decisions
Decision
Options to discuss
What to approve
Neckline
Rib neckband or self-fabric binding
Review stretch recovery, opening size and seam feel against the neck.
Body and sleeves
Set-in or raglan sleeves; regular or relaxed body
Check arm lift and forward reach without excessive hem rise.
Decoration
Chest, back or sleeve placement
Approve the artwork at actual size on the selected fabric, including backing or transfer feel.
Before approving your performance tees sample
Ask the sample wearer to reach forward and overhead. Record body length and chest width before and after the agreed wash evaluation, and review neckline shape on the same sample version.
Checks to agree for performance tees
Fabric composition and weight
Dimensional change after washing
Colorfastness appropriate to use
Seam comfort and decoration durability
Agree the method and acceptance point for each check before bulk production; no certification or numeric result is implied here.
Before you enquire
Your product questions, answered.
What fabric, weight and sizes are confirmed for performance T-shirts?+
Performance T-shirts are made from 80–90% polyester or polyamide (nylon) with elastane, between 180 g/m² and just below 250 g/m². The fabric is breathable, high stretch and moisture wicking; sizes are S–5XL with a 1–2 cm tolerance, and ready-stock colours are reconfirmed in each quotation.
How do cotton and polyester T-shirts differ?+
Cotton and polyester can differ in moisture absorption, drying, handfeel and print compatibility, but construction and finish also matter. SenLin’s confirmed performance-tee route uses polyester or nylon/polyamide as the principal fibre, not a confirmed pure-cotton stock tee. Compare physical samples before requesting another material route.
How should I review the first tee sample?+
Check body and sleeve measurements, neckline shape, seam feel during movement and the decoration on the selected fabric. Record requested changes against the sample version before authorizing another round.
Can I DIY a logo or print on the front and back of a performance tee?+
Yes. Select a custom logo or custom print, then choose front chest, back, or both. Share artwork dimensions and colour references; final print or logo compatibility is approved on the selected fabric before production.
