Apparel Manufacturing FAQ for B2B Buyers

Buyer-first guidance on MOQ, samples, custom clothing, private label, quality control and international shipping—connected back to the decisions your quotation needs.

About SenLin

Before comparing prices, confirm who you are dealing with. These answers set out SenLin’s legal identity, factory location, marketplace profiles and contact routes, plus the checks we suggest for any apparel supplier.

What is SenLin?

SenLin is an apparel manufacturer with its own factory in Shishi, Quanzhou, Fujian, China. It makes hoodies, sweatpants, hoodie sets, fleece layers, performance T-shirts, long sleeves, shorts, pants, training sets and polos for brands, wholesalers, teamwear suppliers and corporate programmes. The operating company, 石狮市盛霖静兴服饰有限公司 (Shishi Senlin Sportswear Co., Ltd.), was registered on 31 August 2022; the business began in foreign trade in 2018.

Is SenLin a factory or a trading company?

SenLin is an owned-factory supplier. Youlin Lin, the company’s legal representative, has confirmed that the workshop photographs on senlinactive.com show SenLin’s own factory. The business began with hands-on foreign trade in 2018, then built a company team and expanded the factory, connecting buyer communication with fabric preparation, garment construction, quality planning and packing. Order-specific capacity and responsibilities are confirmed in the quotation.

Where is SenLin’s factory?

SenLin’s registered address is No. 122 Jinyi Road, Baogai Town, Shishi, Quanzhou, Fujian, China (福建省泉州市石狮市宝盖镇锦逸路122号). The workshop is on the second floor beside Huijie Life Supermarket, under a black sign. Quanzhou, which includes Shishi and Jinjiang, is a well-known centre of China’s sportswear and casual-apparel manufacturing.

Can I visit SenLin’s factory?

Yes, by advance appointment. Arrange the date by email at sales@senlinactive.com or on WhatsApp at +86 158 5958 5198, and say which products and operations you want to review so the visit can focus on your garment. The workshop is on the second floor beside Huijie Life Supermarket at No. 122 Jinyi Road, Baogai Town, Shishi. If travel is not practical, agree beforehand what evidence you need to see.

How can I verify SenLin’s business registration?

Search SenLin’s legal name, 石狮市盛霖静兴服饰有限公司 in China’s National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System (gsxt.gov.cn). The record should show a limited liability company established on 31 August 2022, with registered capital of RMB 1,000,000, under the Shishi Administration for Market Regulation. Registration identifies the legal entity; it does not certify product quality.

Is SenLin on Alibaba, Made-in-China or Global Sources?

Yes. SenLin has supplier profiles on Alibaba.com (as Shishi Senlin Sportswear Co., Ltd.), Made-in-China.com (showroom “senlinactive”) and Global Sources, where it is listed as Shenglin Jingxing Clothing Co., Ltd. These are additional contact channels; the official website is senlinactive.com. Whichever channel you use, check that the contract and proforma invoice name the company you verified.

Who does SenLin make clothing for?

SenLin works business to business: with apparel brands and start-up labels, wholesalers, teamwear suppliers, clubs and gyms, and companies ordering staff uniforms or branded merchandise. Orders follow published minimums—100+ pieces for standard styles with a logo and mixed sizes, and 300–500+ pieces for custom development—so SenLin is not a single-garment or print-on-demand service.

How do I contact SenLin for a quotation?

Email sales@senlinactive.com or send a WhatsApp message to +86 158 5958 5198. Include the product, quantity by colour and size, fabric or GSM direction, logo method and placement, packaging, destination country and target delivery date. A complete brief lets the quotation confirm the applicable minimum, sample timing, production period and shipping route together.

How do I find a reliable hoodie manufacturer in China?

Shortlist suppliers that already make your product type, then verify each one: search the legal name or credit code in China’s official registry (gsxt.gov.cn), compare the registered address with the factory you are shown, order a sample and get the minimum, lead time, payment and defect terms in writing. SenLin publishes its registration details, registered address, minimums, sample periods and production periods on senlinactive.com so buyers can run these checks.

How can I tell a clothing factory from a trading company?

Check the business scope and registered address, ask to see the operations your garment actually needs, and find out who controls sampling, scheduling and quality records. A trading company can still be a good partner, but you should know who makes the garment and who is accountable for it. SenLin is an owned-factory supplier and publishes its legal name and address for independent checks.

Should I source hoodies from China or closer to home?

Compare landed cost and total calendar time, not the unit price alone. A nearby supplier can shorten transit and simplify visits, while a factory in China may offer wider fabric and decoration choice at a different unit cost; import duties depend on your country and the garments’ origin. Ask each supplier to quote the same specification. SenLin publishes its minimums, sample periods and production periods to make that comparison easier.

What should I ask a hoodie manufacturer before ordering?

Ask for the minimum by style and colour, sample timing and charges, fabric composition and GSM, size range and tolerance, decoration methods, production period, packaging, shipping options and trade terms, payment milestones and the process for defects. SenLin answers the core questions publicly: 100+ pieces for standard styles, 3–4 day standard samples, S–5XL sizing, 1–3 cm fleece tolerance and 15 working days of standard-style production.

Is SenLin suitable for a start-up clothing brand?

Yes, if the first order fits the published minimums. A start-up can begin with a SenLin standard style—such as a hoodie, sweatpants, performance tee or polo—with its own logo from 100 pieces in mixed sizes, then move to custom fabric, fit and labels at 300–500+ pieces once demand is proven. Bring a clear brief, a realistic budget and one person who approves samples.

MOQ & quotations

Start with the order structure. A useful quotation separates the style, colour, size range, branding and destination instead of hiding them behind one unit price.

What is your minimum order quantity for custom apparel?

For standard styles, the confirmed MOQ starts at 100 pieces. A logo can be added and sizes can be mixed. Fully custom development starts at 300–500+ pieces, depending on the style and development route. The quotation confirms how the minimum applies before you commit.

Can I mix sizes and colours within the MOQ?

Mixed sizes are supported for standard-style orders. Colour splits can affect fabric and production minimums, so tell us the quantity by colour and size. We confirm the workable breakdown in writing rather than assuming every colour can share one MOQ.

What do you need to prepare an accurate clothing quotation?

Send the product type, quantity by colour and size, target market, fabric or GSM direction, fit, logo method, packaging needs, destination and target date. A tech pack is useful, but clear reference photos and measurements can start the feasibility conversation.

Why does custom clothing pricing change by quantity and specification?

Fabric consumption, colour development, trims, decoration setup, labels, testing, packing and order quantity all affect cost. Compare quotations against the same written specification; a lower price is not comparable if material, construction or approvals are different.

What is the MOQ for custom hoodies and sweatpants?

At SenLin, ready-stock hoodies, sweatpants, hoodie sets and fleece layers start at 100 pieces, with your logo and mixed sizes from S to 5XL. Fully custom fleece—your own fabric, colour, fit or construction—starts at 300–500+ pieces depending on the style. For hoodie sets, confirm whether the quantity counts complete sets or individual garments.

What is the MOQ for custom activewear and gym wear?

SenLin’s standard performance styles—T-shirts, long sleeves, shorts, pants and training sets—start at 100 pieces, with your logo on the front chest, back or both and mixed sizes from S to 5XL. Custom development with your own fabric, pattern or fit starts at 300–500+ pieces. The quotation confirms how the minimum applies to your colour and style split.

Can I order fewer than 100 pieces?

SenLin’s published minimum is 100 pieces for standard styles, and there is no smaller published order route, so SenLin is not a print-on-demand supplier. If your quantity is lower, say so in the enquiry with the exact numbers. A first order can reach the minimum by mixing sizes within one standard style, which SenLin supports.

Should I start with blanks or fully custom cut-and-sew garments?

Start with blanks—ready-stock styles branded with your logo—when speed and a lower minimum matter more than a unique fabric or fit: at SenLin that route starts at 100 pieces with mixed sizes and 15 working days of production. Choose cut-and-sew custom development when the garment itself sets your brand apart; it starts at 300–500+ pieces, takes 20–25 working days and needs an approved sample first.

Can one order combine hoodies, T-shirts and polos?

Yes. One enquiry can cover a coordinated range—for example hoodies, performance tees and polos for a team or company. Each product keeps its own specification and size range (S–5XL for core performance and fleece styles, M–5XL for polos), so list quantities by style, colour and size. The quotation confirms how the minimum applies across the lines.

How much does it cost to manufacture custom hoodies?

There is no fixed price per hoodie. The unit cost depends on the fabric and GSM, construction, decoration method and size, labels and packaging, order quantity and the agreed trade term. SenLin does not publish a price list; each quotation is prepared against a written specification. To compare suppliers fairly, send every supplier the same specification and quantity breakdown.

How much does it cost to start a hoodie brand with a manufacturer?

Budget for more than the garments: samples and revisions, the first production run at the supplier’s minimum, decoration, labels and packaging, freight, import duties and taxes, plus photography and launch costs. With SenLin, the lowest-commitment route is a standard style with your logo from 100 pieces; fully custom development starts at 300–500+ pieces and needs a larger budget.

What should a clothing manufacturer’s quotation include?

A usable quotation lists the style and specification, fabric composition and weight, size range, quantity by colour and size, decoration, labels and packaging, unit price and currency, the trade term with its named place, sample charges, production period, validity and payment milestones. SenLin states production periods of 15 working days for standard styles and 20–25 working days for custom orders, so the schedule can be checked against your launch.

What payment terms do clothing manufacturers ask for?

Many apparel suppliers ask for a deposit before production and the balance before shipment, but terms vary and should never be assumed. SenLin publishes no fixed deposit percentage or payment schedule: the currency, payment method, quotation validity and milestones are confirmed in the written quotation or proforma invoice. Link each payment to a defined milestone, such as sample approval or pre-shipment inspection.

How can I pay a clothing supplier in China safely?

For a direct order, pay only against a written proforma invoice and check that the bank beneficiary matches the company on your contract; SenLin publishes its legal name for this check. For a marketplace order, pay through the platform’s own checkout. Treat any request to change bank details as suspicious until you confirm it through a second channel, such as the WhatsApp number on the official website.

Sampling & approvals

The sample is a decision tool. It should turn subjective comments into an approved reference for material, fit, construction, decoration and repeatability in production.

How long does an apparel sample take?

Standard samples take 3–4 days. Custom samples take 3–7 days. These are sample periods, not shipping times, and begin after the sample direction and required inputs are confirmed. Complex materials, trims or decoration may need separate timing.

Can sketches or reference photos start a custom apparel project?

Yes, they can start a feasibility discussion. Before sampling or bulk approval, turn the concept into a versioned specification with measurements, materials, construction, artwork, labels and an approval owner. Reference photos are not a substitute for production instructions or permission to copy another brand.

Should I order a sample before bulk production?

Yes for a new style, material, fit or decoration. Review the physical garment before bulk so measurements, handfeel, colour direction, stitching, branding and packaging decisions can be recorded together as the approved production reference.

What should I check when approving a garment sample?

Check fabric composition and weight, colour against a physical swatch, garment measurements and tolerances, movement and fit, seams, pockets, zips, decoration position, labels, wash expectations and packing. Mark every change on one consolidated approval record.

Will bulk production match the approved sample?

The approved sample and written specification become the production reference. Repeatability still depends on confirmed materials, tolerances and quality checks, so changes after approval should be documented and re-approved before production continues.

How long does a custom hoodie order take from sample to delivery?

Plan four stages. SenLin makes a sample in 3–4 days for a standard style or 3–7 days for a custom one; you review and approve it; production takes 15 working days for standard styles or 20–25 working days for custom orders; then the goods travel by sea, air or express, with transit quoted for your destination. Your approval speed is the stage you control, so settle artwork, sizes and packaging early.

Do you charge for samples?

Sample charges are quoted separately. At SenLin, sample fees, revision rounds and sample delivery charges are confirmed for each project, so compare them alongside the bulk price. Say which sample you need—a standard style with your logo or a new development sample—because the purpose and timing differ: 3–4 days for standard samples and 3–7 days for custom ones.

Can I get a sample with my logo before bulk production?

Yes. A branded sample shows how the logo method, size and placement look on the actual fabric before bulk. SenLin’s standard samples take 3–4 days and custom samples 3–7 days; logos go on the front chest or back, and on both for core performance styles. Send vector artwork and your preferred decoration method so the sample reflects production.

How many sample rounds does a new garment need?

It depends on how complete the brief is. A standard style with a logo may be confirmed on the first sample, while a new pattern, fabric or fit usually needs more rounds. Each SenLin custom sample takes 3–7 days, and revision rounds and their charges are confirmed separately. Consolidated, written feedback on each round is the fastest way to reach an approved sample.

What if the first development sample misses the brief?

Compare it with the agreed specification, separate errors from new preferences and send one consolidated list of changes. Confirm the revised sample scope, fee and timing before another round; do not release bulk production until the corrected version and its specification are approved.

What is the difference between a proto, a PP sample and a shipment sample?

A proto or development sample tests the design and fit; a size set checks the grading across sizes; a pre-production (PP) sample is made in the approved bulk fabric and trims and becomes the production reference; a shipment or top-of-production sample is taken from bulk to show what was shipped. Name the samples your order needs in the enquiry so the quotation can include them.

What should a hoodie tech pack include?

Include flat sketches, a measurement chart with points of measure and tolerances, fabric composition and GSM, rib and drawcord details, hood construction (lined or single layer), pocket type, stitching, zip or eyelets, artwork placement and size, labels, packaging and the size breakdown. SenLin works to a 1–3 cm tolerance on confirmed fleece styles, so state any different requirement in the tech pack.

Can you send samples by express courier?

Yes. Express courier is one of SenLin’s supported shipping methods and suits samples and small, urgent shipments. The sample delivery charge is confirmed separately and depends on the destination, weight and service. When you plan approvals, add courier transit and customs clearance to the sample period.

Can a manufacturer copy a garment from another brand?

A reference garment can guide fit, weight and construction, but a manufacturer should not reproduce another brand’s trademarks, logos, labels or protected designs. At SenLin, a reference is translated into your own specification: you decide what to keep, change and brand. You are responsible for holding the rights to every logo and artwork you send for production.

Can I get a size chart before ordering?

Yes—ask for it with the quotation. SenLin confirms the size chart for the selected style and size range alongside the quotation and approved sample, rather than publishing one chart for every product. If you already use your own measurements, send them; building a fully custom size chart follows the 300–500+ piece custom route.

Products & materials

Choose material around the wearer and end use. GSM matters, but fibre, knit structure, stretch, recovery, finishing and garment construction shape the final result.

What apparel products do you manufacture?

Our focus includes performance T-shirts and long sleeves, short- and long-sleeve polos, training shorts and pants, sweatpants, heavyweight hoodies, fleece midlayers and coordinated training or hoodie sets. Each route supports product-specific sampling and specification review.

What fabric, weight and sizes are confirmed for your performance apparel?

Our confirmed performance short sleeves, long sleeves, shorts, pants and training sets use 80–90% polyester or polyamide (nylon) as the principal fibre, with elastane according to style. The lightweight solid-colour fabric range is 180 g/m² inclusive to below 250 g/m², with breathable, high-stretch and moisture-wicking positioning for sports. Sizes are S–5XL and the garment measurement tolerance is 1–2 cm.

What fabric, GSM and sizes are confirmed for performance polos?

Our short- and long-sleeve performance polos use nylon/polyamide (锦纶/尼龙/聚酰胺纤维) and/or polyester (涤纶), with 70–85% of the selected principal fibre, at 250–350 g/m². The lightweight solid-colour ready-stock direction is breathable, high stretch and moisture wicking for business, smart teamwear and everyday movement. Sizes are M–5XL; exact fabric, colour, size inventory and garment tolerance are confirmed in the quotation and size chart.

What fabrics, GSM and sizes are confirmed for hoodies and sweatpants?

Our confirmed hoodies, sweatpants, hoodie sets and fleece outer layers use pure cotton, Huamian cotton (华棉) or polyester with 96% or more of the selected principal fibre. Relaxed solid-colour ready-stock styles cover 200–450 g/m² (heavyweight hoodies 350–450 g/m²), S–5XL and a 1–3 cm garment measurement tolerance. Summer, spring and all-season options depend on the selected fabric; exact stock is reconfirmed in the quotation.

Are your performance styles ready stock in solid colours?

Ready-stock solid-colour styles are available for performance short sleeves, long sleeves, shorts, pants, sets and polos. Exact inventory varies by product, colour and size: core performance styles run S–5XL, while polos run M–5XL. The quotation reconfirms the available breakdown. The ten website colour directions require confirmation against the physical fabric shade and current inventory.

What GSM is a heavyweight hoodie?

There is no official threshold. Brands usually call a hoodie heavyweight from roughly 350–400 g/m², and 400 g/m² and above gives a heavier, more structured result. SenLin’s heavyweight hoodies are 350–450 g/m², and its wider fleece range runs from 200 to 450 g/m², from lighter spring and summer options to heavier all-season hoodies. Compare finished-fabric GSM, knit and brushing too, because they change the feel.

What GSM should I choose for a winter or summer hoodie?

As a starting point, 200–280 g/m² fleece or French terry suits spring, summer layering and warm climates; around 300–350 g/m² is a versatile all-season weight; and 380–450 g/m² gives a warmer, more structured winter hoodie. SenLin’s heavyweight hoodies are 350–450 g/m², and its wider fleece range covers 200–450 g/m² with summer, spring and all-season options. Approve the choice on a physical swatch, because fibre and brushing change warmth.

How should I choose fabric weight for an everyday T-shirt?

Start with the climate, desired drape, opacity and care, then compare physical samples of the same fibre and knit construction. GSM is fabric mass per area, not a quality score. SenLin’s published 180 g/m² to below 250 g/m² range applies to its confirmed performance styles; an everyday cotton tee needs a separate material and quotation review.

What is the difference between French terry and fleece?

Both are knitted sweatshirt fabrics with a smooth outer face. French terry keeps small loops on the inside, so it is lighter, more breathable and suited to spring, summer and layering. Fleece has those loops brushed into a soft, raised pile that traps more warm air. The choice also affects handfeel, drape and wash behaviour, so approve it on a physical swatch before sampling.

Is cotton or polyester better for custom hoodies?

Cotton feels natural, breathes well and takes screen printing and embroidery well, but it can shrink and wrinkle more. Polyester keeps its shape and colour, dries faster and is often cheaper, but can feel less natural and may pill. SenLin’s confirmed fleece uses pure cotton, Huamian cotton (华棉) or polyester, with 96% or more of the selected principal fibre, so the choice is made per style.

Can you make oversized or boxy-fit hoodies?

Yes, as custom development. SenLin’s ready-stock fleece styles use a relaxed fit in sizes S–5XL. An oversized or boxy silhouette—dropped shoulders, a wider body, a cropped length or a heavier hood—needs its own pattern and an approved sample, so it follows the 300–500+ piece custom route and the 20–25 working-day custom production period.

Do you make zip-up hoodies as well as pullovers?

Both can be specified. Pullover and zip-through hoodies differ in pattern, zip type and length, placket reinforcement and pocket layout, so they are quoted as separate styles. Whether a version is available from SenLin’s ready stock or needs custom development is confirmed for the colours and sizes you need.

Can you make matching hoodie and sweatpants sets?

Yes. Hoodie sets—a hoodie with matching sweatpants—are part of SenLin’s confirmed fleece range, in pure cotton, Huamian cotton (华棉) or polyester fleece at 200–400 g/m², sizes S–5XL. Approve both garments together, agree whether tops and bottoms are paired by size, and confirm whether the quantity counts complete sets or individual garments.

What fabric do you use for custom gym wear?

SenLin’s confirmed performance fabric is 80–90% polyester or polyamide (nylon) as the principal fibre, with elastane according to the style, at 180 g/m² up to below 250 g/m². It is positioned as breathable, high-stretch and moisture-wicking for sports and training, in solid colours. Agree any numeric performance target and test method before you print it as a product claim.

Are LYCRA, spandex and elastane the same thing?

Spandex and elastane are generic names for the same stretch-fibre category; LYCRA is a protected fibre brand, not a generic composition claim. Ask for proof of the actual branded fibre before naming it in product copy. SenLin has not confirmed LYCRA-branded material for its standard styles.

Can you make moisture-wicking polo shirts for staff uniforms?

Yes. SenLin’s short- and long-sleeve performance polos use nylon/polyamide and/or polyester, with 70–85% of the selected principal fibre, at 250–350 g/m². The direction is breathable, high-stretch and moisture-wicking, suited to business wear and smart teamwear. Add a logo on the front chest or back; sizes run M–5XL, and standard styles start at 100 pieces.

Do you make plus sizes up to 5XL?

Yes. SenLin’s confirmed performance apparel and fleece styles run from S to 5XL, and performance polos from M to 5XL. Sizes can be mixed within a standard-style order of 100+ pieces, which suits teams and staff programmes with many body types. Check the larger sizes on the approved size chart; the tolerance is 1–2 cm on performance styles and 1–3 cm on fleece.

What measurement tolerance do you work to?

SenLin’s confirmed garment measurement tolerance is 1–2 cm for performance T-shirts, long sleeves, shorts, pants and sets, and 1–3 cm for hoodies, sweatpants and fleece layers. Polo tolerances are set on the approved size chart. Tolerance applies to each point of measure, so list the critical points—such as chest, body length and sleeve length—in your specification.

What colours are available for ready-stock styles?

The colours shown on senlinactive.com are selection directions, not a confirmed stock list. Ready-stock solid colours vary by product, size and season, so SenLin reconfirms the available shades and size inventory in the quotation. Approve the colour from a physical swatch or sample rather than a screen, because monitors and photographs shift colour.

Can you dye fabric to a custom Pantone colour?

Custom shades can be developed from a Pantone or physical reference through lab dips, subject to fabric-mill minimums and your approval. That places the order in SenLin’s custom route—300–500+ pieces and 20–25 working days of production—whereas ready-stock solid colours start at 100 pieces. Approve the lab dip under agreed lighting, and expect some variation between dye lots.

How can a brand reduce shrinkage in cotton hoodies?

Specify it rather than hoping for it: agree the fabric finishing, set a dimensional-change limit tested by a named method—such as AATCC 150 for garments or ISO 5077 with ISO 6330 washing—and approve measurements after washing, not only before. SenLin makes no universal pre-shrunk claim, so the finish and wash criteria are agreed for each style, and the care label must match the tested care method.

Can you make clothing from recycled polyester or organic cotton?

They are not part of SenLin’s confirmed ready-stock specifications, so treat them as a custom material request and raise them in the first enquiry. If you plan a recycled or organic claim, you will also need supply-chain evidence, such as GRS or RCS certification for recycled content or GOTS for organic cotton. SenLin does not publish these certifications, so confirm what documentation can be supplied first.

Are the product photos on your website real products?

The product and colour images on senlinactive.com explain style and colour directions; they are not photographs of approved stock. The factory photographs are real: Youlin Lin, SenLin’s legal representative, supplied them and confirmed they show the company’s own workshop. Before ordering, ask for a physical sample or current photographs of the exact style and colour.

Branding & private label

Branding works best when artwork, material and placement are developed together. The right route depends on whether you bring a finished specification or need an adaptable product base.

Do you offer OEM, ODM and private-label clothing manufacturing?

Yes. OEM follows your completed product specification; ODM adapts a developed product direction to your brief; private label adds approved brand elements such as labels, trims, decoration and packaging. The final scope is listed in the quotation.

Can you add our logo to hoodies, polos and performance apparel?

Logo customization is supported. Share vector artwork, colour references, dimensions and placement. Printing, transfer and embroidery behave differently on technical knits, piqué and fleece, so the method and result should be sampled on the intended fabric.

Can I DIY a logo or print on the front and back?

Yes. Core performance apparel supports front chest, back, or both; performance polos and confirmed fleece styles support front chest or back. The selection is added to the enquiry brief. Final artwork dimensions, colour and production method are approved on the selected fabric before production.

Can you make custom labels, packaging and cartons?

All products support custom individual packaging and custom cartons. The confirmed ready-stock fleece direction is supplied without hangtags; custom labels or hangtags can be discussed separately when specified and quoted. Provide brand files, dimensions, carton marks, pack ratios and destination-market requirements early.

Who is responsible for apparel labelling compliance?

The brand or importer should confirm the rules for each destination market. For example, U.S. guidance covers fibre content, country of origin, business identity and care instructions, while EU textile rules address fibre-composition labelling and language requirements. We can manufacture to confirmed artwork, but we do not replace market-specific legal review.

Is screen printing or embroidery better for hoodies?

Embroidery suits small chest logos and a premium, durable finish on fleece, but becomes heavy and costly on large designs. Screen printing suits bold graphics and larger runs at a lower cost per piece, with a soft feel when the ink system is chosen well. DTF transfers suit full-colour artwork in small runs. Sample the method on your actual fabric; SenLin reviews the artwork and fabric together.

What is puff print, and does it work on hoodies?

Puff print uses an expanding ink that rises when heat-cured, giving a raised, rubbery 3D effect popular in streetwear. It works on cotton-rich fleece for bold, simple shapes, but fine lines and small text can fill in, and ironing can flatten it. Sample it on the exact fleece, colour and artwork size, and check the result after washing before approving bulk.

What artwork files do you need for printing or embroidery?

Send vector artwork in EPS, SVG or PDF format with outlined fonts, plus Pantone or physical colour references, the finished size in centimetres and the placement measured from a fixed point, such as the collar seam or centre front. For embroidery, avoid very fine lines and tiny text. SenLin reviews the file against the chosen fabric and decoration method before sampling.

What is the difference between woven, printed and heat-transfer labels?

Woven labels are made on a loom with the design built into the thread, giving a durable, premium look. Printed labels on satin, cotton or nylon tape carry fine detail and long care text at lower cost. Heat-transfer (tagless) labels are pressed onto the fabric for comfort, which suits activewear. For SenLin’s ready-stock fleece, custom labels and hangtags are specified and quoted separately.

Can I put my own brand labels on ready-stock styles?

Yes, as a separately quoted option. SenLin’s ready-stock fleece is supplied without hangtags, and custom neck labels, care labels, hangtags and packaging can be specified and quoted for your order. Send the label artwork, size, material and attachment position, together with the fibre and care wording for your market; the wording must match the approved material.

What is the difference between private label and white label clothing?

White label clothing is a ready-made product that several sellers can buy and brand, so the garment itself is not exclusive. Private label clothing is produced for one brand to its own specification and branding. SenLin supports both routes: ready-stock styles with your logo from 100 pieces, and custom OEM or ODM development with your own labels and packaging from 300–500+ pieces.

Can I buy blank hoodies wholesale?

SenLin’s ready-stock solid-colour hoodies, sweatpants and fleece layers start at 100 pieces with mixed sizes from S to 5XL, and they are supplied without hangtags. A logo on the front chest or back is an option at the same minimum; if you want the garments undecorated, say so in the enquiry and the quotation will confirm it. Stock colours and sizes are reconfirmed for each order.

Can you pack orders for Amazon FBA or online stores?

SenLin supports custom individual packaging and custom cartons, so channel requirements can be written into the packing specification. Send the marketplace’s current rules—bag type and warning text, barcode labels, carton size and weight limits and carton labels—with the order, and confirm in the quotation that unit labelling is included. Requirements change, so check them again before packing starts.

Can you sign an NDA to protect my designs?

Raise it before you share technical files. SenLin’s working terms call for confidentiality and file-access requirements to be agreed before sensitive documents are sent, and for ownership of patterns, grading and artwork to be confirmed in writing before development. Until those terms are agreed, share only what is needed for a quotation.

Can you supply branded hoodies and polos for company staff?

Yes. SenLin supplies corporate programmes with performance polos (M–5XL) and hoodies, sweatpants and fleece layers (S–5XL) carrying a company logo on the front chest or back. Standard styles start at 100 pieces with mixed sizes, which suits staff with different body types. Plan how garments are packed and labelled for each person or location before production.

Do you make custom teamwear for clubs and gyms?

Yes. SenLin makes teamwear from performance tees, long sleeves, shorts, pants, training sets, polos and hoodie sets, with your crest or logo on the front chest or back and mixed sizes from S to 5XL. Standard styles start at 100 pieces. Names and numbers, packing by person and repeat orders are agreed in the quotation, with personal data limited to what the order needs.

Does a hoodie sold in the US need a care label?

Yes. The FTC Care Labeling Rule requires most textile clothing sold in the US to carry a permanent label with instructions for regular care, and the Textile Act rules require fibre content, country of origin and the identity of the responsible business. The brand or importer decides the wording; SenLin can apply labels made to that approved artwork.

Production & quality

Quality control starts before sewing. Clear specifications, approved references and defined acceptance criteria are more useful than a quality promise without records.

How long does bulk apparel production take?

Standard-style production is 15 working days. Custom production is 20–25 working days. Timing follows confirmation of the order, material route, artwork and approved sample; shipping transit is quoted separately and seasonal capacity is reconfirmed before payment.

How do you control garment quality?

The working route covers material and trim confirmation, sample approval, in-process workmanship checks, measurement review and final packing checks. Product-specific tolerances, inspection method and any required reports must be agreed in writing before bulk.

Do you use AQL inspection?

We do not publish a blanket AQL level on this site. If sampling inspection is required, confirm the standard, inspection level, AQL, lot definition and defect classifications in the order agreement. ISO 2859-1 explains how AQL-indexed sampling plans set sample sizes and acceptance thresholds.

Does AQL 2.5 permit 2.5% defective garments?

No. AQL 2.5 is an index used with an agreed sampling plan to select sample size and acceptance or rejection numbers; it is not permission to ship exactly 2.5% defective goods. Define the lot, inspection level, defect classes and response to a failed inspection in the order terms. SenLin has no blanket published AQL level.

How can I reduce mistakes during custom apparel production?

Use one controlled tech pack, one approved sample and one revision log. Define owners and due dates for fabric, colour, fit, artwork, labels and packing. Consolidate feedback instead of sending conflicting comments across separate messages.

What is your production capacity?

SenLin does not publish a fixed monthly capacity figure, because the realistic quantity depends on the product, construction, decoration and season. What is published is the production period: 15 working days for standard-style orders and 20–25 working days for custom orders. For a large or multi-drop programme, send the total quantity and delivery dates so the schedule can be confirmed in writing.

Do you make everything in-house?

SenLin operates its own factory, and the operations used for a specific order—such as cutting, sewing, decoration, special finishes and packing—are confirmed in the quotation, including any carried out by partner processors. Ask who is responsible for each stage of your garment and how its quality is checked; a partner process is not a problem in itself when the responsibility is clear.

Do you have OEKO-TEX, BSCI or other certifications?

SenLin does not claim any product certification or social-compliance audit on its website. If your market, retailer or tender requires one—such as OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, a social audit or a specific test report—name it in the first enquiry and confirm in writing what documentation can be supplied for your order before you pay a deposit.

What does OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 mean for a clothing order?

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 is a label for textiles tested for harmful substances: every thread, button and accessory of a certified article has been tested against the standard’s criteria. It applies to the certified article or material, not to a factory in general, so check the certificate number and scope with the OEKO-TEX online label check. It is not an organic or sustainability label.

Do you test fabric for shrinkage and colourfastness?

Testing is agreed for each order. SenLin does not publish in-house laboratory results, so specify the tests you need—such as dimensional change after washing, colourfastness to washing and rubbing, or pilling—together with the method, the limits and whether a third-party laboratory report is required. Tests add cost and time, so include them in the quotation rather than after bulk.

How can a brand reduce shade variation in bulk?

Approve a physical colour standard and compare the proposed fabric, trims and decorated sample under agreed lighting. Record the dye-lot reference and acceptable variation before bulk; reconfirm materials on a reorder instead of assuming an earlier screen image or batch will match.

Can I arrange a third-party inspection before shipment?

Agree it in the order terms. Name the inspection company, the stage—during production or a final random inspection—the standard and sampling plan, the acceptance criteria and who pays for re-inspection if a lot fails. That lets SenLin schedule access around the 15 or 20–25 working-day production period and gives both sides one agreed basis for the result.

What happens if my bulk order has defects?

Report the issue promptly against the approved sample and specification, with photographs, carton marks and counts. At SenLin, remedies such as rework, replacement or credit, reporting deadlines and return freight are agreed in the written order terms; no automatic remedy is promised. That is why tolerances, acceptance criteria and the inspection method should be defined before bulk production starts.

Does Chinese New Year affect apparel production?

Yes. Many factories and material suppliers in China pause for the Spring Festival holiday, which falls in January or February, and restart gradually, so orders placed close to the holiday can slip. Plan approvals early and ask SenLin to confirm its holiday dates and the latest order date for delivery before the break.

How do I plan production for a seasonal launch?

Work backwards from the launch date: subtract transit and customs time for your route, then production—15 working days for SenLin’s standard styles or 20–25 for custom orders—then approvals and sampling at 3–7 days per round, plus a safety margin. Allow extra time around public holidays and peak shipping seasons, and lock artwork and sizes before the sample stage.

Do cotton fleece hoodies need flammability testing for the US?

Often, yes. The US Standard for the Flammability of Clothing Textiles (16 CFR 1610) exempts from testing only plain-surface fabrics of at least 2.6 oz/yd² and fabrics made entirely of acrylic, modacrylic, nylon, olefin, polyester or wool. Brushed cotton or cotton-blend fleece is a raised-surface fabric outside those exemptions, and a blend with any other fibre falls outside the fibre exemption, so the importer should arrange testing and the required certificate before import.

What EU chemical rules apply to clothing?

Clothing sold in the EU must comply with the REACH restrictions in Annex XVII, which include limits on azo dyes that can release listed aromatic amines, on nonylphenol ethoxylates in washable textiles and on listed CMR substances in clothing. The EU importer is responsible for compliance, so specify the restricted-substance requirements, testing and documents you need in the order before production starts.

Shipping & reorders

Production time and transit time are separate. The shipping method, destination, carton details and trade term should all appear on the quotation.

Do you ship custom clothing internationally?

We support sea freight, air freight and express courier. The practical route depends on destination, order size, carton volume, urgency and the agreed trade term. Freight and transit time are confirmed for the specific shipment.

Which shipping method is best for an apparel order?

Express courier is often considered for samples or smaller urgent shipments; air freight for faster bulk movement; and sea freight for larger, less time-sensitive orders. Compare landed cost, transit time, customs handling and delivery point before choosing.

What do Incoterms mean for my order?

Incoterms allocate transport tasks, costs and risk between buyer and seller; they are not payment terms. Put the selected Incoterms 2020 rule and named place or port on the quotation so both sides understand freight, insurance and customs responsibilities.

How do I make a repeat apparel order consistent?

Reference the approved style, measurement chart, material, colour standard, trims, artwork and packing specification from the previous order. Reconfirm material availability and any requested changes; a repeat order should not rely only on an old product name or photograph.

How are apparel freight charges calculated?

Freight is quoted for the actual shipment using the destination, carton count, actual or volumetric weight, selected sea, air or express route, and agreed trade term. Production time does not include transit, customs clearance, duties or destination taxes unless the quotation expressly says so.

Can I return or exchange a custom apparel order?

Custom and B2B goods are not automatically returnable because of preference or unsold stock. Inspect promptly, preserve packaging and count records, and report any issue against the approved specification with photographs. Reporting deadlines, rework, replacement, credit and return freight must be agreed in the written order terms.

Should I choose FOB, EXW or DDP for a clothing order?

Under EXW the buyer handles almost everything from the seller’s premises, including export clearance; under FOB the seller clears export and loads the goods on board at the named port, where risk passes to the buyer; under DDP the seller delivers to your address with import duties and taxes paid. Choose the term that matches who can manage freight and customs best, and state the Incoterms 2020 rule and named place on the quotation.

What HS code applies to hoodies and sweatpants?

Knitted hoodies and sweatshirts fall under HS heading 6110—6110.20 for cotton and 6110.30 for man-made fibres such as polyester. Knitted trousers and shorts fall under 6103 for men and 6104 for women, tracksuits under 6112 and T-shirts under 6109. The importer or customs broker must confirm the full national tariff code, because it sets the duty rate; polos and sets need a case-by-case check.

How long does shipping from China take?

It depends on the route, so SenLin quotes transit for each shipment rather than publishing one figure. Express courier is usually the fastest option for samples and small parcels, air freight suits faster bulk movement, and sea freight is the slowest but usually the most economical for large volumes. Add customs clearance and final delivery, and remember that production time is separate from transit.

What is the difference between air freight and express courier?

Express courier is a door-to-door service in which the courier also handles customs clearance, which suits samples and small shipments. Air freight moves cargo between airports through a freight forwarder, usually needs a separate customs broker and delivery arrangement, and tends to be more economical for heavier shipments. SenLin supports both, plus sea freight, and quotes them for the actual carton count and weight.

How is volumetric weight calculated for apparel cartons?

Multiply the carton’s length, width and height in centimetres and divide by the carrier’s factor: express couriers commonly use 5,000 and air freight commonly uses 6,000. The chargeable weight is the higher of the volumetric and actual weight. SenLin quotes freight on the actual or volumetric weight of your cartons, so compact folding and a sensible pack ratio can lower the cost.

How quickly can I reorder a style that sold well?

A repeat of an approved standard style follows the 15-working-day production period once quantity, sizes, colour availability and any changes are reconfirmed; a custom style follows the 20–25 working-day custom period. Keep the approved sample, size chart, artwork and packing specification from the first order, and ask whether a new sample is needed if the fabric or dye lot changes.
